The much awaited Kadayawan Festival 2007 of Davao City opens this week. Unlike the very commercialized versions in the past, organizers project the festivities this year as focused on the city’s tribal communities.
The theme this year is “Lumadnong Kagikan, Mabungahong Kinaiyahan, Gasa sa Kahitas-an” (Mytranslation: Indigenous ancestry, fruitful Nature, Gift from God.)

yes, August 8-19 davao city is celebrating the kadayawan 2007. We dabawenyos are very much thankful for this coming event that it only happens at davao city. It simply shows how davao city became progressive and more progressive for incoming years. Hiyas ng kadayawan, horse fighting, floral float parade and lastly indak-indak sa kadalanan this are the most spectacular event.

Kadayawan festival is the culmination of all dabawenyos lifelong dream of fostering peace on all tribes within and around Davao. It is a Thanksgiving with an open heart and an invitation to all those people, be it foreign or local that we and I am so very PROUD to say out loud that the dabawenyo of today boasts and spreads his wings wide open.
So, tara na mga amigo ug mga amiga , duaw na sa among pasasalamat ning bulan sa pagkahiusa. Kalipay ug kalinaw among ihatag ninyo.
