Civil Society to gov’t, MILF: continue talking

Peace advocacy groups in Mindanao are urging  both government  and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) peace panels to continue talking as they urged each other to also help find solutions to the present impasse over the territorial scope of the “Bangsamoro Homeland.”

The two recommendations were also suggested by representatives of civil society groups in Mindanao who attended the four workshops during the Forum on  “Human Security as a Framework for Peace and Development in Mindanao” at The Heritage Hotel in Manila last Wednesday afternoon.

Earlier that morning, government peace panel chair Silvestre Afable, who was one of the speakers at the Forum, urged peace  stakeholders to help in “ the search for solutions” to break the current impasse in the peace talks with the MILF. Read the full story here.
