Esperon: AFP confident peace process will continue

The Armed Forces of the Philippines is confident that the peace process with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) will continue despite the difficulties encountered recently, AFP chief of staff Gen. Hermogenes Esperon said.

“The AFP will stick to the primacy of the peace process and we intend to do just that,” Esperon said in a message to Davao reporters Thursday.

Esperon said the AFP will observe existing ceasefire and suspension of hostilities with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

Esperon said the military has found no indication of any massing of MILF forces. “The AFP is on the alert monitoring other forces or provocateurs that may take advantage to sabotage the peace talks,” he said. Read full story here.
