Nurses’ retake: A challenge to Arroyo’s ‘political will’?

Labor Secretary Arturo Brion slammed yesterday Malacañang’s flip-flop on the issue of retake for nurses who took the cheat-riddled Nursing board in June. President Arroyo, in a sheer pitch for the public’s opinion earlier batted against the retake.

But recently, Arroyo announced there has to be a retake – and in a snap -backtracked. Brion, who supported a retake to clear doubts on the exams, said Arroyo has the power to decide on the case and shouldn’t refer it to the Court of Appeals. “It would take years to settle it in CA,” he said. Read the story here. This will become a classic test, if any, to Arroyo’s political will and her effectivity as President amid her criss-crossing controversies.

Yes, just to echo what nursing board passers from Mindanao have been asking: why drag those not meshed with the leak?
