NBI: Leak only in Baguio, Manila

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/11 October) – Leakage of test questions in the June
2006 Nursing Licensure Examinations occurred only in Baguio City and Metro
Manila, a national television network quoted an official of the National
Bureau of Investigation as saying.

The ABS-CBN website quoted NBI Director Nestor Mantaring as saying reports of
the leakage reaching Davao City were “unfounded” as the NBI failed to find
sufficient evidence to confirm the allegation.

Mantaring spoke after the NBI submitted the results of its probe to
Malacañang. He said the questions were leaked to nursing graduates in Baguio
City and Manila.

The NBI said it will charge 17 unnamed “professionals” from three review
centers this week.

The NBI investigated Inress Review Center owned by George Cordero, resigned
president of the Philippine Nurses Association, and the R.A. Gapuz Review
Center owned by Ray Gapuz.

Mantaring said they will charge the 17 for violation of Republic Act 8981 or
the Professional Regulation Commission Modernization Act. (To be updated)
