Engineer, 2 others kidnapped in Jolo

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/18 Oct) — Three employees of a Davao-based
construction firm engaged in a road project in Indanan, Sulu were
kidnapped Tuesday in the islands’ capital town of Jolo, a company
official said.

Kidnapped were Romeo Rivera, 40, from General Santos City, an engineer
and employee of Monolithic Construction, Inc. since 1995; Reynaldo
Rubio; and Larry Bautista. The latter two are both from Zamboanga City
who were hired only recently, said Arvin Sucapen, quality officer at
Monolithic.

The three employees are assigned with the firm’s Indanan-Parang (Sulu)
road construction project commissioned by the provincial government
since August 2005.

As of press time, the company is yet to issue details of the
