(Updated) Mindanawons asked to back efforts to sustain economy

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s economic managers said the country continued to notch rosy economic performance and showed promising prospect ahead but only if the Mindanawons and the rest of the nation would take part in sustaining it.


This was the tone of a “shared responsibility” between government and the private sector and the citizens in an economic briefing at the Marco Polo Hotel here Friday, led by Finance Secretary Gary Teves. Read an updated version of the story

He told MindaNews the government is keen on working to back Mindanao’s economic needs in an effort to hasten the peace process, which he said is the island’s top concern.
