Dureza: Resumption of peace talks suffering setbacks

Presidential Peace Adviser Jesus Dureza admitted to leaders of local government units here Thursday the schedule of the resumption of peace talks between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front has suffered a setback with the near collapse of the
ceasefire last week over clashes in Midsayap, North Cotabato.

Dureza in a speech at a national conference on local government peace work at the Marco Polo said the government of Malaysia, third party facilitator of thepeace talks, was disappointed over the March 6 fighting between Army soldiersand the Moro Islamic Liberation Front that left 18 dead and thousands ofresidents fleeing their homes, adding to the number of alleged truce violations.
