3 USAID workers injured in grenade blast
KIDAPAWAN CITY (MindaNews/24 Apr) – Three staffmembers of the Growth
with Equity in Mindanao (GEM), which is under the United States Agency
for International Development (USAID), were wounded when a grenade
exploded just in front of their office in the poblacion of Pikit,
North Cotabato around 7 p.m. tonight, sketchy reports reaching
MindaNews said.The North Cotabato police has yet to determine the motive of the blast.
Wounded were Engr. Mario C. Tabaosares, 26; Engr. Alfredo D. Cabardo,
53; and Damrod M. Dalandangan, 28; all employees of GEM’s sub-office

manhunt against two motorcycle-riding men believed to have lobbed the
Tonight’s blast was the third incident in Southwestern Mindanao
(Region 12) this month.
On April 19, one was killed and two others were wounded when an
improvised explosive device went off along Yap Sy St. in Cotabato
City. Police believed the slain victim was the one that carried the
IED that exploded while still in his hands.
Four days later, a grenade was lobbed by two motorcycle-riding men in
Barangay Lagundingan, Midsayap, North Cotabato. One was hurt during
