Bossi rescue out of the question – AFP official

It appears that the Armed Forces of the Philippines has ruled out rescuing Italian priest Giancarlo Bossi from his captors.

The military said it is dangerous.

Maj. Gen. Mohammad Ben Dolorfino, who chairs the government panel in the Ad Hoc Joint Action Group, said as quoted by the ABS-CBN website that a rescue operation is out of the question – at least for now – despite strong suggestions from the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.

“In fact, it was discussed Tuesday to launch military sweeping operations with the MILF fighters acting as blocking force, but I disapproved it,” Dolorfino said in the report.
