Fr. Giancarlo Bossi freed

Finally, kidnapped Italian priest Giancarlo Bossi, PIME, was freed late Thursday night, police said.

He was unharmed and is willing to go back to Payao, Zamboanga del Norte where he was assigned as a missionary.

The key point raised in the release is that he was freed because of negotiations, not through military operations.

One good point to look at because the military has poised itself ready to operate.

This could also be true for the situation in the island province of Basilan: negotiation between the government and the MILF after the reported ambush that killed 14 Marines, 10 of them beheaded and the death of an imam.
